  • Submergence is an immersive installation comprised of 8,064 individual points of light that visitors can walk through. The lights continually change colors in correspondence to music. Submergence creates awe-inspiring feelings of movement within the physical space.

The installation runs on a 12-minute loop.

  • Submergence is comprised of 8,064 points of light, each of which is individually programmable and runs off its own IP address.

Submergence is an abstract narrative that builds upon a gradual increase in tension, building to a final climax. Each movement has its own elements, atmosphere and responsiveness. They are also all open to one’s own interpretation.

Submergence recently toured with the DJ Four Tet, who played in the center of the installation. Squidsoup performed in collaboration with Four Tet from the back of house, syncing the lights to the beat of the music.

Submergence (2016) is an incremental development of an original version, which was shown in 2013. It has been shown in over 20 spaces and events on five continents.
