ARC
Ian Brill

Arc, created by Ian Brill, is an immersive space made of synchronized light and sound gestures.
The installation uses motion, sound and color to present an ephemeral and ethereal ecosystem.
Arc is an audiovisual experience of polarizing extremes: digital beauty and frenetic, unraveling disruptions. The artwork is a generative installation inspired by the artist's experience of riding subways as a child. It tells a fable regarding the momentous necessity of technology.

Arc is made up of 864 light fixtures, with a total of 5,184 individual LED bulbs.
This is one of Ian Brill's most recent artworks. He is interested in gridded, representational and abstraction based artwork.
Ian came up with Arc in two days and it took him one week to execute the build for this piece. After he built this artwork, he sat in person with it for a month to understand its effects on the audience.
Ian sees this piece as a portal and one of his less meditative pieces.
